Welcome to the <3 of LingoHub!

This is where your LingoHub journey truly begins.

The LingoHub online translation Editor has been carefully designed to make translating and managing each detail of your localization project as effortless as possible.

It is the starting point for translation management at LingoHub. In the Editor, you and your team have access and possibility to edit, translate and save Text Segments.

What is a Text Segment?

A Text Segment is a key in the resource file.
This means that, for example,
you can have one key with 15 words, which is one Text Segment.

How to Access the Editor

Editor is easily accessible at any time from any page within the LingoHub app.

Just click the green "Editor" button in the main Navigation bar & you're there.

If one of your collaborators is currently editing the same Text Segment,
it will be displayed at the bottom of the segment.

Source Language Text Segments

Your Source Language Text Segments are displayed on the left side of the Editor.

Editing and creating Source Text Segments

To Edit Source Text Segments, use the "Edit" switcher

In addition, you can create a completely new Source Text Segment right in the Editor.

Go to bottom left corner and select: "Create Text Segment". A pop-up will provide you with the following options:

  • Select the Source project for the Text Segment
  • Select the Resource File
  • Select the Text Segment Key
  • Select the Status of the Text Segment
  • Add comments
  • Click "Add Segment" to add & save.

Assigning Status to Source Text Segments

You can assign two different Statuses to your Source Text Segments:

  • Draft
  • Approved

To assign the preferred Status, just click the circular checkbox about the Text Segment and select the perfect one.

If you edit your Source Text Segment,
the corresponding translation is automatically set as draft.

You can change the Status of translation
by clicking the checkbox above the translated Text Segment.

Target Language Text Segments

Your Target Language is displayed on the right side of the Editor.

You can easily switch between all your target languages via the drop-down menu at the top.

Assigning Text Segments to Translations

You can assign four different Statuses to target language Text Segments:

  • Not Translated
  • Draft
  • Translated
  • Approved

Placeholders and HTML code are usually not translated.
They are kept in the same form as in the Source text.
Placeholders and HTML code are highlighted in different colors, and as such easily distinguished from the text.

If you are experiencing troubles with placeholder or HTML recognition,
feel free to give a nudge to our friendly & experienced Support Team.
