How to manage an API key

Once an API key has been created in LingoHub, you can inspect its permission configuration, edit its general information or access levels, and adjust project-specific rules at any time.

Accessing API keys

To view and manage your workspace's API keys:

  1. Click on your Workspace menu in the top-left corner.

  2. Select API keys from the dropdown menu.

Opening API key options & details

Once you are on the API keys overview page, you can access management options using either of two methods:

Method A: Via the quick action menu (⋮)

  1. Find the target key in the list and click the three dots (⋮) icon on the right.

  2. Choose from the direct options:

  • Edit: Opens the configuration wizard modal directly.

  • Delete: Triggers the key's deletion process.

Method B: Via the API key details drawer

  1. Click the Open role details icon (drawer symbol) next to the action menu.

  2. Use the right-hand drawer to review global permissions, inspect project access, or click Edit/Delete at the top.

Viewing API key details & permissions

Clicking the drawer icon opens the right-hand API key details drawer, where you can review configuration across two tabs:

  • API key permissions tab: Displays configured global permissions categorized by Workspace & billing, Administration, and general Project permissions.

  • Projects access tab: Displays specific individual projects assigned to this key.

Editing an API key

To modify general information or access permissions for an existing key:

  1. Click Edit from the three-dots menu (⋮), or click Edit inside the side drawer panel.

  2. In the Edit API key modal, walk through the wizard steps:

    • General information: Update the key name, description, or expiration date.

    • Workspace & Project permissions: Adjust access levels (No access, View only, Full access).

  3. Review the changes in the Summary step, then click Save.

Managing project-specific access

To grant or modify permissions for specific individual projects:

  1. Open the API key drawer and switch to the Projects access tab.

  2. Click + Add specific access.

  3. In the Add specific access modal, select target projects from the Projects dropdown.

  4. Set specific project-level permissions (e.g., Languages, Settings, Activities, Resources).

  5. Click Save.

Deleting an API key

If an API key is no longer required or needs to be revoked, you can permanently delete it. For a step-by-step guide on deleting keys, see our article on How to delete an API key.
