Style guides ensure consistency across all translated projects in your workspace. LingoHub allows you to create, edit, and manage general rules, language variants, and language-specific rules at any time.

How to create a Style guide
To create a new Style guide:
Click AI in the top navigation bar and select Style guides in the left navigation panel.
Click + Create Style guide in the top-right corner.
Fill in the General rules (Name, Domain, AI context, Age group, Audience, Audience description, etc.).
Click Create Style guide at the bottom of the page to save.
How to edit a Style guide
You can update any general rule, add language variants, or configure language-specific rules at any time.
Editing General rules
Go to AI, then Style guides.
Click directly on the Style guide you wish to edit.
Update any of the general rule fields, then click Save changes.
Adding language variants
Language variants map general language codes to specific regional variants (e.g., de to de-AT).
Open your Style guide, scroll to the Language variants section, and click + Add.
Select the General language code and the target Variant language code in the pop-up window.
Click Add.
(Optional) To modify or remove an existing mapping, click Edit or Delete next to the variant entry (the options will be displayed at hover).
Adding language-specific rules
Language-specific rules allow you to define custom formatting (date/time formats, separators, quotes, formality, voice) for individual target languages.
Open your Style guide, scroll to Language-specific rules, and click + Add.
Select the target Language (e.g., German (Austria) de-AT) and click Continue.
Define your rules in the modal (Date format, Time format, Grouping separator, Decimal separator, Quotes format, Language complexity, Voice, Formality, Gender inclusiveness) and click Add language.
(Optional) To adjust existing rules later, click Edit or Delete on the language card (the options will be displayed at hover).
How to delete a Style guide
To delete an existing Style guide:
Go to AI, then Style guides.
Locate the Style guide in the list and click the three dots menu icon on the far right.
Select Delete from the dropdown menu.
Confirm by clicking Delete "[Style guide name]" in the confirmation pop-up.
You can also share your Style guide with other users this way.
