The Term info side panel in LingoHub provides a centralized space to manage metadata, matching rules, alternatives, and grammatical properties for individual Glossary entries.
How to access the Term info side panel
To open the Term info panel for any Glossary entry:
Click AI in the top navigation bar and select Glossary under Context in the left panel.
Click on your Glossary from the list.
Access the side panel in one of two ways:
Term info sections
The side panel consolidates term management into four sections:
1. General
Manages high-level configuration and context settings for the term:
Enforcement status: Sets how strictly this term should be handled in the translation process and for Quality checks.
Image: Allows you to upload images (supporting JPEG, PNG, WEBP, SVG, GIF up to 10MB) to help translators visualize the term.
AI context: Provides descriptive definitions or context notes for LINA and linguists.
2. Matching
Controls how LingoHub detects terms in source texts:
Matching rule: Selects the matching conditions used to detect glossary terms in the editor (e.g., Prefix, Exact, Fuzzy, or Custom). For a detailed explanation, read our guide on terms matching.
Case sensitive: Defines how capitalization influences term matching.
3. Term alternatives
Manages translation options and respective usage priorities:
Usage status: Displays alternative entries assigned statuses like Admitted or Not recommended.
For detailed configuration steps, see our guide on term alternatives and usage status.
4. Grammatical
Defines linguistic properties to assist AI localization engines and editors:
Gender: (Masculine, Feminine, Neuter, etc.)
Number: (Singular, Plural, Dual, etc.)
Term type: (Full form, Acronym, Abbreviation, etc.)
Speech part: (Noun, Verb, Adjective, etc.)
Additional row actions
Clicking the three dots menu icon at the top of the Term info panel provides quick management options:
Copy row ID / Copy cell ID: Copies technical identifiers for debugging or API operations.
Duplicate row: Creates a copy of the term entry.
Delete row: Removes the term entry from the Glossary.
Clear text: Clears translation cell values.
Enable fallback translation: Configures target fallback rules. For more details, read How to manage the fallback language settings.
