What is quality checks?

One of the main Lingohub tools for localization quality assurance is quality checks. It ensures that translations of projects adhere to specified standards and immediately alerts users when those standards are broken. This feature streamlines and expedites the process by providing translators with crucial information, such as the length of the segments, in dialog boxes or technical elements (such as placeholders). On the other hand, project managers rest assured that the project keeps quality.

Note: you can find all the segments marked by the quality checks tool by clicking the quality checks icon on the project page.

Also, while working with the editor, you will see the segments with the highlighted quality checks warning.

Additionally, the "Quality checks" tool can be activated in the context panel to detect rule deviations from the beginning and offer suggestions to translators.

Note: If you ignore the quality checks warnings and set the status "Approved" for the segment, the quality check for this segment will be reset.

What can be controlled with the quality checks?

The quality checks allows to control next things:

  • Original (source) text - set up the criterias for source text.

    • Markup HTML - the system comparing source and target texts and notify if there are any markup differences

    • Placeholders - the system comparing source and target texts and notify if there are any placeholders differences

    • Duplication checks - the system recognizes repeated texts and notify about them

    • Terminology - quality checks warns when the text doesn't fit the terminology guidelines and suggests the correct option.
