The Editor provides detailed information on selected text segments in a convenient environment for translators. It gives you direct access to rules for quality checks, AI LINA, translation memory suggestions, and context information.
Access the Editor from any page within the LingoHub app by clicking Editor on the left navigation panel / main navigation bar.
Editor layout overview
The Editor consists of several primary tools:
Top toolbar: Switch projects/branches (1), search text segments (2), apply filters (3), sort results (4), or add new segments (5).
Target languages switcher & status filters: Switch active target languages (6) and change (7) or filter (8) segment statuses (for both source and target languages).
Context panel (9): Access additional information, including context images, quality check warnings, discussions, and edit history.
Text segments list: View source texts alongside target inputs, segment public IDs, key identifiers, and quality checks warnings directly for each segment.
Key features & tools
1. Projects and branches filter
Use the dropdown in the top-left corner to filter by project or branch. You can also review translation progress per project and language pair here.
2. Search field
Find relevant segments using the search field and built-in tools.
Search type selector: Choose between General search, Key search, Id search, or Description search.
Text search operations: Refine text matching using Contains, Contains (case sensitive), Exact match, Exact match (case sensitive), Starts with, or Ends with.
3. Advanced search
Click the filter icon next to the search bar to open the Advanced search panel for precise filtering:
Language settings: Specify whether to search across the source language, target language, or both.
Date & quality checks: Filter by last updated date or isolate segments with failing quality checks.
Segment properties: Filter by containers (branches, context images, discussions, labels, project name), plurals, untranslatable text, or segments without keys.
4. Sorting tool
Sort text segments by Segment public ID, Segment key, Segment created at, Target status, and Target updated at.
5. Target languages switcher
Switch between different target languages using the language dropdown menu.
6. Status switch & status filters
Filter and change segment statuses:
Source status filter: Filter segments by source status (e.g., Draft or Approved).
Target status filter: Filter target segments by status, including New, Draft, Translated, AI Translated, QA passed, QA flagged, Stale, Rejected, or Blocked.
Adding segments & using the context panel
Add a new segment directly in the Editor
Click the + New segment button in the upper-right corner to add new segments or import them via CSV file.
Context panel with additional information
The context panel on the right sidebar provides additional information and translation tools. You can interact with the context panel in two ways:
Collapsed view: Hover over individual icons on the sidebar to preview and use specific tools (such as context images, discussions, translation memory matches, or edit history) in a popover window.
Expanded view: Click the panel expands icon at the top of the sidebar to expand the Context panel and access all tools simultaneously.
