How to use Lingohub Machine Translation?
Updated over 2 months ago

Lingohub's machine translation feature combines three robust engines—DeepL, Google Translate, and Amazon Translate— to cover over one hundred languages.

Open the editor to find the machine translation suggestions. From the start, you will see the pre-translation suggestions in the target language field, and you can apply them by using the shortcut CTRL+Enter.

How to use machine translation in the editor context panel?

You can turn on the machine translation suggestions in the editor context panel. Expand the context panel and turn on the "Pre-translate" tool inside the "Segment info" section to do this. The pre-translate tool combines machine translation and translation memory suggestions, allowing you to choose the best option for your project.

Inside the editor you can select the segment, and machine translation will provide the translation for the target language. The machine translation results will be updated depending on the source text when switching between segments.

Add the translation to the row by clicking the "Apply" button, which will appear when you hover over the translation or use the CTRL+1 shortcut.

How to use machine translation for custom search?

Use the Lingohub machine translation feature for custom translations.

Note: this action doesn't affect text segments by itself, but you can add the translation results to the segment by clicking on it or using shortcut Ctrl+1

The custom search will activate if you type your text inside the machine translation field and push Enter.

How can the style guides feature affect the machine translation suggestions?

Machine translation suggestions are also based on your style guide's formality requirements. Connecting the style guide to your project gives you access to a more detailed and tailored machine translation service with more concrete and accurate recommendations.

Note: You can use MT with the pre-translation feature to automatically fill empty text segments. Read our article about pre-translation to learn how to start the process.

Note: Your pricing plan includes a limited number of MT characters. Check your pricing plan possibilities here.
