How to manually add entries to a Glossary?

Adding terms to your Glossary helps ensure that human translators and AI LINA apply approved vocabulary consistently across your projects. LingoHub allows you to enter translatable terms (with target translations) as well as untranslatable brand terms directly within the interface.

If you prefer to upload a file with multiple terms at once, see our guide on simple and advanced CSV import.

Adding terms manually

  1. Open AI in the top navigation bar and select Glossary under Context.

  2. Click on the Glossary you want to edit.

  3. Choose the appropriate tab at the top of the table depending on your term type:

    • Translatable terms: For vocabulary, technical terms, or UI copy that requires very specific translations.

    • Untranslatable terms: For brand names, logos, or trademarks that must stay in the original source language across all locales.

  4. Click the blue Add term (^ N) button in the top-right corner (or press Ctrl + N / Cmd + N).

  5. Enter your term details:

    • Translatable terms: Enter the source term in your primary language, then fill in approved localized translations directly under each target language column.

    • Untranslatable terms: Enter the brand term in the Term content field and add an explanatory note in the Description column.

    • Advanced metadata: Define optional term attributes such as case sensitivity, matching options, and enforcement status.

  6. Save your entry.

Adding images to manual terms

To give translators and AI engines visual context:

  1. Hover over the Image column for any term row and click the + button.

  2. In the upload pop-up, drag and drop your image file or click browse / Add image (supported formats: jpeg, jpg, png, webp, svg, gif; up to 20 files, max 10MB each).

  3. Click Upload.
