How to reconfigure or disable two-factor authentication?

Manage your existing two-factor authentication (2FA) settings directly on your security page to switch authenticator devices or disable 2FA when needed.

💬 Please note: We strongly recommend keeping two-factor authentication enabled to ensure maximum protection for your user account and translation data.

How to reconfigure two-factor authentication

Reconfiguring 2FA links your LingoHub account to a new authenticator app or device.

💬 Please note: Reconfiguring 2FA invalidates your existing authenticator connection and all previously generated recovery codes.

  1. Click your user profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Security.

  2. Under the Two-factor authentication section, click Configure next to Authenticator app.

  3. Click Reconfigure in the modal window.

  4. Scan the new QR code or enter the setup code in your authenticator app, then save the recovery codes in your preferred format.

For step-by-step instructions on scanning the QR code, entering verification codes, and saving new recovery codes, see our guide on How to add two-factor authentication (2FA) to your LingoHub account.

How to disable two-factor authentication

⚠️ Important: Disabling 2FA removes the additional security layer from your user account, making it less secure.

  1. Click your user profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Security.

  2. Under the Two-factor authentication section, click Configure next to Authenticator app.

  3. Click Disable in the modal window.

  4. Click Disable again in the confirmation window to finalize removal.
