How to manage your translation workflow using statuses?

LingoHub allows you to customize how initial segment statuses are automatically assigned when importing new files, updating existing source texts, or uploading empty segments.

Configuring default workflow statuses

To define default status rules for your project:

  1. Click Projects in the top navigation bar and select your project from the overview list.

  2. Go to Settings, then Workflows tab.

  3. Configure the default status drop-downs for both Source language and Target languages.

Workflow impact on LINA

The default target status you choose directly impacts LINA's behavior:

  • Assigning LINA (as Translator or Agent): If new or updated segments are set to a status in the Needs editing stage (such as Draft or New), LINA will automatically pick them up for AI translation.

  • Preventing automatic AI processing: If new segments are set to Blocked (Not ready) or Approved (Done stage), LINA will not process them.

⚠️ Important: Always verify your workflow settings and statuses under Project settings, Workflows before assigning LINA as a Translator or Agent. This prevents unintended AI processing or missing translations.
