LINA (LINguistic Agent) is your personal AI translator and reviewer in LingoHub. LINA helps teams generate high-quality translations that align with brand and linguistic standards by leveraging your existing language resources, including Glossaries, Style guides, and Translation memory.
Unlike generic machine translation tools, LINA handles both translation and quality reviews with your company-context, operating directly within your localization workflow to deliver natural translations tailored to your brand voice and project requirements.
How LINA works in LingoHub
LINA combines advanced AI with your project-specific linguistic assets to generate translations and perform reviews. This enables accurate results even for technical, industry-specific, or brand-sensitive content.
In LingoHub, each target language can be assigned to a team member or directly to LINA. Depending on the assigned role and auto-processing settings, LINA operates in three workflow modes:
Assistant role (Assigned to a team member, Auto-process OFF)
LINA takes no background actions. Instead, she functions as an on-demand Assistant in the Editor to help translators write, edit, and refine content.
In the Editor, LINA can perform the following on-demand operations:
Translate: Generate translation drafts for individual segments.
Rephrase & Shorten: Rewrite text to fit tight UI character limits or improve flow.
Suggest variants: Generate multiple translation options for review.
Translator role (Assigned to a team member, Auto-process ON)
In addition to on-demand help in the Editor, LINA works proactively in the background while team members maintain final approval authority:
Translation: When source content reaches Done, LINA automatically picks up the untranslated segments, translates them, and moves the target status from Needs editing to Needs review.
Human approval: A team member must review and approve LINA’s translations to move segments to Done.
Agent role (Assigned directly to LINA)
In addition to on-demand help in the Editor, LINA manages the workflow autonomously end-to-end (auto-process is automatically enabled). Source content in Done is picked up, translated, reviewed, and approved without human intervention:
Translates & reviews: LINA generates target translations and automatically runs quality assurance checks against your Glossaries and Style guides.
Approves & finalizes: Segments that pass quality checks are automatically moved from Needs editing to Needs review, and directly to Done.
Automated error retries: If a segment fails a quality check, LINA retries the translation up to 3 times, using feedback from previous attempts to correct issues.
Escalation: If a segment still fails after the third attempt, LINA marks it as Blocked in order for a team member to step in.
