Once you have set up the Zendesk integration, you can create a Zendesk project in LingoHub. This guide covers project creation, page sync configuration, LINA setup, the translation process in the Editor, and how to push your content back to Zendesk.
Create a Zendesk project in LingoHub
Go to Projects in LingoHub and click + Create project.
Enter a Project name, then select Zendesk under the CMS/Help Center category and click Continue.
On the Authentication & connection step, select your existing Zendesk authentication from the dropdown (or click + Create new authentication if you haven't created one yet) and click Continue.
Configure page sync & filters
LingoHub automatically fetches your Zendesk Help Center structure as a tree containing Categories, Sections, and Articles.
While articles contain the bulk of your content, names and descriptions for Categories and Sections are also imported and available for translation.
Under Pages sync, browse the All pages tree reflecting your Zendesk Knowledge base categories.
Hover over specific Categories or Sections and click Include, or use the search bar to enter wildcard patterns and click Add filter.
Review the matched pages under Pages to be synchronized, then click Continue.
For advanced filtering options, see our guide on resource filters.
Review languages
On the Languages step, LingoHub automatically detects your primary source language and target languages configured in Zendesk.
💬 Please note: Target languages are managed directly inside your Zendesk Help Center settings and cannot be modified within LingoHub during setup. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to manage languages in Zendesk.
Click Continue.
Configure LINA (optional)
Once you click Continue you will be able to set up LINA, your AI translation partner. You can assign one of three roles per target language: Assistant, Translator, or Agent. To view the differences, see section “LINA’s roles at a glance” in this guide.
Check project summary
On the Summary step, review your project settings, service connections, and synced pages, then click Create project.
Translate your content
As soon as synchronization is complete, navigate directly to your Languages view to manage translations or open the Editor.
Navigate to the Languages overview tab inside your Zendesk project.
Click the Editor icon next to a language.
Inside the LingoHub Editor, your Zendesk Help Center Article titles, body copy, Section titles, and Category descriptions are automatically split into clear segment rows ready for AI or manual translation.
Use LINA's assistant features to draft, rephrase, or shorten translations to match your desired formatting.
LINA's roles at a glance
You can check or change LINA's automation settings for any language at any time in the Languages view by clicking the LINA icon next to the corresponding language row. When you open the configuration window, you can choose between three distinct roles:
Assistant (Speech bubble icon): LINA works alongside you in the editor, standing by to rephrase, shorten, or suggest translations on request. She will not alter text on her own. (See above)
Translator (Pencil icon): LINA pre-translates new strings and runs baseline quality checks, leaving the final approval step to a human team member. She will move all segments to Needs review.
Agent (Lightning bolt icon): LINA runs on autopilot, automatically translating, checking, and approving your text segments. You are only contacted if she encounters a block.
Synchronize content between LingoHub and Zendesk
Manage your data exchange using the Zendesk sync widget located in the top-right corner of your project header.
Pulling updates from Zendesk
Click Synchronize from Zendesk to open the pull options:
Update structure: Synchronizes your pages (Categories, Sections, and Articles) as well as any newly added target languages from Zendesk. This creates the necessary resource containers in LingoHub without importing text. Check Import new pages if you want LingoHub to automatically fetch text content for any newly detected pages right away.
Import texts: Imports and updates text content for existing resource containers and languages in LingoHub only. Use the toggles to filter by Specific languages or pages if needed.
💬 Please note: If a page or article does not exist yet as a resource container in LingoHub, a standard text import will skip it. You must run Update structure first to create the container.
Pushing translations to Zendesk
Click Synchronize to Zendesk to publish completed translations back to your Help Center:
Choose whether to export All or Specific target languages using the toggle.
Choose whether to export All or Specific pages.
Click Export to update your localized Help Center content in Zendesk.
