How to create a LINA?

LINA automates translation and quality checks across your project workflows. Creating custom LINAs allows you to tailor translation behavior, select preferred AI models, assign context rules, and define quality assurance checks.

💬 Please note: Creating and configuring LINAs requires management permissions for AI translation. By default, this permission is included for Owner, Admin, and Localization Manager roles.

1. Access the creation wizard

  1. Click AI in the top navigation bar.

  2. Under the AI section in the left sidebar, click Linguistic agents.

  3. Click the Create a LINA button.
    ​

2. General info & access

  1. Choose a LINA avatar color.

  2. Enter a Name and an optional Description.
    ​

  3. Select scope under LINA accessible in:

    • All teams and projects: Makes the agent available workspace-wide.
      ​

    • Specific teams and projects: Restricts availability to selected workspace teams or projects.
      ​

  4. Click Continue.

3. Linguistic engines

  1. Under Default, select the primary engine for this LINA (e.g., Claude Opus 4.7) from the Select a linguistic engine dropdown.
    ​

  2. (Optional) Set up language-specific overrides under Routing:

    • Click + Add rule.
      ​

    • Choose an engine from the Engine dropdown.
      ​

    • Select the target languages that should use this model.
      ​

    • The active routing rule will appear under the Routing list.
      ​

  3. Click Continue.

4. Context settings

  1. Toggle Use exact matches from the Translation Memory to enable or disable exact TM matches prior to AI processing.
    ​

  2. Toggle and enable or disable Style guide usage by LINA. Select the desired Style guide, as needed.
    ​

  3. Toggle and enable or disable Glossary usage by LINA. Select the desired Glossary, as needed.
    ​

  4. Toggle and enable or disable Labels or Text Segments as needed.

  5. Click Continue.
    ​

💬 Please note: We strongly recommend using AI context to improve translation quality. Be aware, that activating AI context consumes additional linguistic credits.

5. QA settings

  1. Enable or disable quality checks for LINA.

  2. Configure each parameter individually (e.g., Length constraints, Whitespaces, Placeholders, Terminology, etc.).

  3. Click Continue.
    ​


6. Summary & creation

  1. Review your configured LINA under Summary.

  2. Click Save.
    ​

  3. Once the New LINA created confirmation appears, click Go to my LINAs to return to your LINA overview.
    ​

Besides creating a LINA in the AI workspace tab, you can also set up a new LINA directly when creating a new project.
