Quality Assurance (QA) settings allow you to automatically enforce formatting, structural, and linguistic rules across your localized content. When assigned to a LINA (as Translator or Agent), these checks are automatically run during review cycles to ensure high-quality output and flag potential issues before publishing.
💬 Please note: QA settings and context (such as Glossaries and Style guides) are configured per LINA, not per individual project. This gives you maximum flexibility to assign tailored quality rules to specific teams, engines, or translation scopes.
Accessing QA settings
You can configure QA settings during initial setup or adjust them anytime for existing LINAs:
When creating a new LINA
Click AI in the top navigation bar.
Select Linguistic agents in the left sidebar under the AI section.
Click Create a LINA.
Navigate to step 4 QA settings in the creation wizard.
For an existing LINA
Click AI in the top navigation bar.
Select Linguistic agents in the left sidebar under the AI section.
Click the three dots icon on the desired LINA card and select View details.
Switch to the QA tab in the top navigation menu of the agent details view.

QA setting | Available checks | Description |
Length constraints | Min. character length | Checks whether the translation is shorter than the minimum allowed character length. |
| Max. character length | Checks whether the translation exceeds the maximum allowed character length. |
Whitespaces | Leading/trailing spaces | Checks whether source and target start and end with the same number of spaces. |
| Multiple spaces | Detects multiple consecutive space characters. |
| Line break consistency | Checks whether source and target contain the same number of line breaks. |
Placeholders | Placeholder missing | Detects placeholders from the source that are missing in the translation. |
| Unnecessary placeholder | Detects placeholders in the translation that are not present in the source. |
Markup | HTML tag missing | Detects HTML tags from the source that are missing in the translation. |
| Unnecessary HTML tag | Detects HTML tags in the translation that are not present in the source. |
Terminology | Terms missing | Checks whether required Glossary terms are used in the translation. |
| Terms not recommended | Detects terms marked as not recommended in the Glossary. |
Untranslatable check | Same content | Detects when source and target contain identical content and may not have been translated. |
Quotes and delimiters | Quote mismatch | Checks whether opening and closing quotation marks match. |
| Quote translation | Checks whether quotation marks follow the conventions of the target locale. |
Locale formatting | Date format | Checks whether the date format follows the target locale. |
| Date translation | Checks whether date values have been adapted for the target locale. |
| Time format | Checks whether the time format follows the target locale. |
| Time translation | Checks whether time values have been adapted for the target locale. |
| Number format | Checks whether number formatting follows the conventions of the target locale. |
Punctuation | Punctuation | Checks whether source and target follow the same punctuation pattern. |
| End character | Checks whether source and target end with the same character. |
Duplication | Duplicate words | Detects duplicated words or phrases in the translation. |
HTML attributes | Translatable HTML attributes | Defines which HTML attributes translators and reviewers are allowed to change. |
