What can I do with labels?

Labels in LingoHub allow you to categorize, flag, and organize text segments across your projects. By tagging segments with descriptive labels (such as needs context, help wanted, or terminology), you can simplify translation workflows, filter segments efficiently, and provide additional context to translators or AI tools.

Key benefits & features

  • Categorize content: Group segments by topic, component, or urgency (e.g., UI elements, legal copy, marketing terms).

  • AI context support: Provide specific AI instructions or background context attached directly to a label to guide AI translation generation.

  • Bulk segment processing: Filter and update multiple labeled segments simultaneously inside the Editor.

  • Bi-directional navigation: Jump straight from the label management view into the Editor with a single click to inspect tagged segments. This also works the other way around.

Where to view and manage labels in LingoHub

1. Global label management

Navigate to AI in the top navigation bar and select Labels in the left sidebar.

From this view, you can:

  • Search across all existing labels.

  • Create new custom labels.

  • Filter labels by assigned segment count or creation date.

  • Perform bulk actions such as merging or deleting labels.

  • Edit label names, colors, and AI context inline.

  • View assigned segment counts and click the segment link to view tagged content directly in the Editor.

2. Segment info panel (Editor)

When working on a segment in the Editor, open the Segment info side panel on the right. Under the Text section, you can see all labels currently assigned to the active segment.
