How to use discussions for team collaboration

Discussions provide a central communication hub inside LingoHub to talk about context, clarify uncertainties, and coordinate localization tasks across your workspace. You can create threads linked to specific projects or segments, tag team members, and attach reference files.

💬 Please note: If you are working on individual translations and need to communicate directly from the Editor, see our dedicated guide on How to manage discussions in the Editor.

Accessing Discussions

  1. Select Projects from the top main navigation bar.

  2. Click Discussions in the left sidebar under Projects.

How to create a new discussion thread

  1. In the Discussions overview, click + Start new in the top-right corner.

  2. Enter a descriptive title for your discussion at the top.

  3. On the right panel, configure thread associations:

    • Users: Click the gear icon to assign specific team members.

    • Projects: Click the gear icon to tag target projects.

    • Images: Click the gear icon to upload screenshots or reference files (drag and drop or browse up to 10 files, max 10 MB each).

  4. Type your message in the text editor. Use formatting tools or inline tags:

    • @username to mention and notify a user.

    • #projectname to tag a project.

    • #1 to reference a specific segment ID.

  5. Click Send and create.

Interacting with an active discussion

  • Replying: Enter your message in the comment field and click Send.

  • Editing the title: Click Edit in the upper-right corner, modify the title, and click Save.

  • Closing a thread: Click the three-dot menu () in the upper-right corner and select Close.

Filtering and bulk managing discussions

  • Filtering threads: Click the Filter button in the top-right corner to narrow down discussions by date, project ID, segment ID, or thread status.

  • Pinned discussions: Pinned threads display a pin icon next to their title at the top of the list for quick access.

  • Closing individual threads: Click the three-dot menu () next to any row and click Close.

  • Bulk closing threads: Select the checkboxes on the left side of multiple discussions, then click Close on the floating action bar at the top.
