LingoHub’s GitHub integration enables a quick and smooth localization process for your repository files. To get started, you will need to install and configure the GitHub application within your LingoHub workspace. This article provides a detailed, step-by-step guide to completing this setup.
Installing GitHub
To connect GitHub to your LingoHub workspace, follow these steps:
Navigate to Plugins and integrations in your LingoHub workspace.
Find GitHub in the list of available integrations and click Manage.
If no account is connected yet, you will see a screen stating "No authentications have been configured." Click Install GitHub App.
You will be redirected to GitHub. Choose the account or organization where you want to install the LingoHub application.
Define the Repository access:
All repositories: Grants access to all current and future repositories in that account.
Only select repositories: Allows you to manually choose specific repositories for LingoHub to access.
Review the permissions and click Install & Authorize.
Once completed, you will be redirected back to LingoHub, where your connected GitHub account will now be listed.
Connecting GitHub to a LingoHub project
After the app is installed, you can link your repositories to specific LingoHub projects:
Click Create project in your dashboard.
Enter your project information (Name and optional Description).
Under Select project category, select GitHub.
Note: The GitHub integration is file-based. Platforms like Figma, Contentful, or Zendesk use different connection methods.
Click Continue.
In the next step, select your Repository and the Branch you wish to synchronize.
Managing the GitHub integration
To manage your GitHub integration, open the newly created project and click "Plugins" to view the Git integration. Click on Manage.
