How to set up the Zendesk integration?

Connecting your Zendesk Help Center to LingoHub allows you to seamlessly localize your Categories, Sections, and Articles. By linking Zendesk with LingoHub, you can automatically import source content, translate it using LingoHub’s AI tools, and synchronize translated content back to Zendesk.

Enable API token access in Zendesk

To connect LingoHub to Zendesk, you must first generate an API token in your Zendesk Admin Center:

  1. Log in to Zendesk and navigate to the Admin center.

  2. In the left navigation menu, go to Apps and integrations and choose API configuration.

  3. Ensure the checkbox for Allow API token access is enabled, then click Save.

Generate and copy a Zendesk API token

  1. Under the APIs section, click API tokens.

  2. Click the Add API token button in the top-right corner.

  3. Enter a label in the Description field and click Save.

  4. Once generated, copy the token to your clipboard using the Copy button.

  5. Click Save to confirm.

⚠️ Important: Make sure to copy and save the API token immediately. You won't be able to access it again.

Create a Zendesk authentication in LingoHub

You can create a Zendesk authentication either under Plugins & Integrations in your Workspace Settings or directly during the project setup wizard.

Option A: Via Workspace Settings

  1. In LingoHub, click your workspace name in the top-left corner and select Plugins & Integrations.

  2. Locate the Zendesk card and click Manage.

  3. In the pop-up window, click Add new authentication.

  4. Fill in the required fields in the setup form:

    • Name: Give your authentication a descriptive name.

    • Provider URL: Enter your Zendesk subdomain URL

    • Username: Enter the email address of a Zendesk account.

    • Access token: Paste the API token you generated in Step 2.

  5. Click Create.

You can also create the authentication during project setup. See more details here.

⚠️ Important regarding Username permissions: The Zendesk API inherits the exact permissions of the user account assigned to the token. Ensure that the email address used belongs to a team member with sufficient privileges in Zendesk.
