Once a member has joined your LingoHub workspace, you can easily update their workspace role, adjust project-specific permissions, or revoke their access. All user access is managed centrally from the Members tab.
For a complete overview of the interface, see our guide on how to navigate the Members & Roles interface. If you need to bring new colleagues onboard first, refer to our step-by-step guide on how to add new team members.
Accessing member management
Click your Workspace icon in the top-left corner and select Members & Roles.
In the Members tab, locate the user you wish to modify. You can interact with any team member using two methods:
Method | Best for… | Actions available |
Three-dot menu (⋮) | Quick changes directly from the list view. | Change role, Promote to owner, Remove from workspace. |
Details drawer icon | Reviewing detailed permissions and managing project access. | Opens a right-hand side panel to inspect workspace permissions, update roles, configure project access, or remove access |
Monitoring member permissions & activity
To inspect what an individual user can see and do across your organization without making changes, open their Member details drawer by clicking the icon on their row.
The drawer provides two tabs for detailed monitoring:
Workspace access tab: View a complete breakdown of the user's permissions across all global workspace categories (e.g., Billing, Administration, Text tools).
Project access tab: Review all specific projects assigned to the user, their assigned project roles (Translator, Localization Manager, etc.), and their exact language access rights.
💬 Please note: The drawer header also displays key metadata, such as when the member joined and when they were last seen active on the platform.
How to change a member's role
You can change a user's workspace role using either of the two management options:
Option 1: Via the three-dot menu
Locate the user in the Members table and click the three dots (⋮).
Select Change role.
In the modal, select a new role (Admin, Localization Manager, or Member) from the dropdown menu.
Click Save.
Promoting to owner: To transfer or share primary administrative rights, select Promote to owner from the menu. You will be prompted to authenticate by entering your password.
Option 2: Via the member details drawer
Click the Open member details icon on the user's row.
In the top-right corner of the side panel, click on the Role button.
Select the desired role from the modal list (Admin, Localization Manager, or Member) and click Save.
Configuring usage limit alerts:
You can also manage notification settings for individual team members directly from their details drawer. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the role badge in the top-right corner and toggle Send usage limits alerts on or off. When enabled, this user will receive automatic alerts whenever workspace usage thresholds or limits are reached.
How to remove members
If a colleague or contractor no longer needs access, you can permanently revoke their workspace access.
Option 1: Via the three-dot menu
Click the three dots (⋮) next to the member.
Select Remove from workspace.
Confirm the action by clicking Delete in the pop-up modal.
Option 2: Via the member details drawer
Open the member's details drawer by clicking the drawer icon.
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the role badge at the top.
Select Remove member.
Click Delete in the confirmation dialog.
⚠️ Important: Removing a member immediately revokes their workspace access across all assigned projects. This action is irreversible.
Managing specific Project access
For members assigned the Member workspace role, you can grant, update, or restrict project permissions independently.
Granting new project access
Open the member's side drawer and switch to the Project access tab.
Click + Add specific access.
Select the target Project from the dropdown menu.
Select a Project role (e.g., Owner, Localization Manager, or Translator).
Click Save.
Updating existing project access & language permissions
In the Project access tab, click the pencil icon next to any assigned project row.
In the Update project access modal, you can change the assigned Role (e.g., switch between Localization Manager and Translator).
For Translator roles, configure language-specific access:
Click Add Language to select specific target languages for this member.
For each selected language, toggle the appropriate permission level:
Translate: Allows the user to edit and save translations.
Manage: Gives the user permission to approve translations.
To revoke access to a language, click the trash icon next to that language.
Click Save to apply the updated project permissions.
Bulk actions
To update multiple team members simultaneously:
Select the checkboxes on the left side of the Members table.
Use the bulk action bar at the bottom to update workspace roles or remove selected users with a single click.
