How can I delete a segment?

In LingoHub, a segment is the parent entity (the top-level element that holds keys, source texts, target translations, and contextual data). Deleting a segment removes the entire segment along with all associated keys, translations, and history logs from your project.

⚠️ Important: Permanently deleting a segment removes all associated data from LingoHub's database. Deleted segments cannot be restored.

Steps to delete a segment

  1. Open the Editor in the top navigation bar and select the segment you want to delete.

  2. Expand the Context panel on the right sidebar.

  3. Make sure the Text tool card is enabled in the Segment info view.

  4. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the Text card.

  5. In the Segment settings modal, click the red Delete segment button.

  6. Confirm the action by clicking Delete in the confirmation pop-up.

If you only want to remove a key from a segment without deleting the segment itself, read our guide on How to delete a segment key.
