The Security page in LingoHub centralizes all authentication, password management, two-factor authentication, and active session controls. Available features on this page adapt dynamically depending on your active authentication method.
Accessing security settings
Click on your user profile icon in the top-right corner.
Select Security from the dropdown menu.
Security options by authentication method
1. Email and password authentication view
When you log in using an email address and password, you access full account security features:
Password management: Update your current password or set a new one. Learn more in our article on How to change or reset your LingoHub password.
Two-Factor authentication (2FA): Configure an authenticator app (such as 1Password or Google Authenticator) and manage recovery codes for secondary login verification. Learn more in our article on How to add two-factor authentication (2FA) to your LingoHub account.
Authentication methods: View your current login method or switch to a social login provider. Learn more in our article on How to manage and switch authentication methods.
2. Social sign-in authentication view
When you log in using a social login provider (such as Google, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Microsoft):
Authentication methods: Displays your active provider and allows switching to another provider or converting back to standard email and password authentication.
Two-Factor authentication (2FA): Not displayed directly on LingoHub. When using social sign-in, 2FA is managed through your respective social login provider (e.g., your Google or GitHub account settings).
Managing active sessions
The Active sessions section lists all IP addresses and devices currently authenticated with your user account. This section remains identical regardless of your selected login method.
To learn more about how active sessions work and why they are tracked, see our article on sessions.
To log out an unrecognized or unused device remotely:
Locate the session entry under Active sessions.
Click Revoke next to the target device.
Click Yes in the confirmation window to end the session immediately.
