LingoHub offers two distinct ways to automate translation: continuous translation with LINA (LINA works automatically in the background) and manual one-time pre-translation. Understanding how each feature handles status and stages and targeting will help you choose the right approach for your workflow.

Status dependency and targeting logic
The primary difference between LINA and manual pre-translation lies in how they evaluate and target text segments:
LINA: Operates strictly status-dependent. Regardless of whether LINA is set to Translator or Agent role, she only processes segments when they are in a specific workflow status, running continuously without requiring any manual human effort.
One-time pre-translation: Operates independently of statuses (e.g., using All segments to force re-translations) or apply targeted filters based on Files, Resource Containers, Labels, or specific Statuses. This can only be triggered manually.
When to use which approach
Use LINA for: Continuous releases where newly approved source text should be translated immediately in the background.
Use manual one-time pre-translation for: Re-translation of existing text segments, or targeting specific files or labels (without taking statuses into account).
