Translation memory is a powerful tool for your team to avoid translating the same text twice by providing suggestions based on the previous translations. It is automatically accessible for your workspace, but you must set it up first.

To set the translation memory, follow the next steps:

  1. Click on the workspace icon at the top-left corner.

  2. Select "Text tools" and click "Translation memory" from the drop-down list.

  3. Choose the sources your translation memory will "study" from. You can select the specific projects or the entire workspace (all projects included.)

  4. Select the statuses your translation memory will based on. For example, you can select only "Approved" statuses to ensure that translation memory provides suggestions based on the ready content.

  5. Now, you can see the stored text segments in the translation memory, filter them, and quickly move to the needed segment inside the editor.

After setting up the translation memory, you can get the suggestions from it inside the editor context panel. To get these suggestions, follow the next steps:

  1. Go to the editor and expand the context panel.

  2. Turn on the "Pre-translate" tool for the "Segment info" sections.

  3. If the selected segment doesn't yet have the entries in the translation memory, you will see the "No translation memory suggestions found."

  4. If the segment has entries in the translation memory, you will get up to three suggestions with the percentage of the coincidence for each. Thus, you can see the differences between the content translations and fix them if needed.

  5. Click on the arrow icon to move to the translation in the editor, or click "Apply" to use the translation memory suggestion.
